Kevään esiinmarssi ... The strides of spring

For Sky Watch Friday, please scroll down

Strange to think that only last week it still felt quite wintery.

Jäätön kanava ... An icefree channel

Omenankukan nuppu ... A bud of an apple blossom

Joo vanha lehtihän siinä on vaan kyllä ne uudet on tulollaan ... Okay there's an old leaf but the new ones are already budding

Ensimmäiset luonnonkukat, Leskenlehti

The first wild flowers, Coltsfoot

Pajut ei ihan vielä kuki ... The willow does not quite yet flower

Don't know the name of this shrub but the colour is wonderful

Sammaleet kukkii ... Flowering moss

Uutta vihreätä alkanut kasvamaan ... New green growth showing up

Täynnä emikukintoja (Tervaleppä?) ... Full of catcins (Common Alder?)

Etelässä on metriset lehdet jo palmuissa, näköjään.

Isn't spring wonderful? I hope it stays warm for you. Winter tricked me and came back to Canada. Luckily it's now gone and spring is back to melt the snow.

Very nice photos of emerging spring!

Definitely spring is headed your way! We're a little ahead of you being this far south though.

And actually my moon was from January, though I probably could have taken a similar shot last night. Might do that later tonight actually.

Beautiful photos! I imagine that you are very ready for Spring.

I really like the third photo because of the way the hanging leaf and the refracting water drop are arranged so that their bottoms almost lie on the same plane. And there's also the concept of old vs. new with the leaf and buds, and how the water is liquid now instead of ice, again signaling the coming of spring.

Hi Tarolino.

Great shots all of Your photos. It is interesting to see how beautiful You see our world.

I prefer all of Your photos, but mostly, that rose shrub.

Regards.

IHania kevään merkkejä ja kirkas taivas! Meille oli satanut yöllä lunta - toivottavasti vanhojen sanat pitävät paikkansa eli uusi lumi vanhan surma...

Hello Tarolino!
Such wonderful images of Spring, isn't is fantastic that the snow is melting and that new life appears? I love the willows, they are my favorite!

How wonderful that spring has finally arrived for you. Thank you for posting the coltsfoot which was always the first to flower in Latvia too when I was little and is one of the many wildflowers I miss in Australia.

I also thought the red bush was osier dogwood - I have one in the back yard that the birds planted, and I will keep for that lovely red bark! I find it odd that you still have snow, but the wildflowers are starting to bloom! The coltsfoot is just a perfect yellow colour! I can find half size wild strawberry leaves, and some violet leaves even smaller than that, but only the crocuses are blooming! I haven't uploaded my photos from this morning yet.

Takk for hjelpen!)
