Hyvä isä mikä aamu! / My goodness what a morning!

Insomnia, a nationally famous song by Koop Arponen (last year's finnish idols winner), hit me today. I wasn't the least bit sorry. At five in the morning I gave up, pulled my clothes on and at half past five I went out with the dogs. I headed for the seaside to a place that faces east for reasons that shall become clear from the pictures below.

Kello on kuusi ... It is six o'clock

Kello on kuusi ja viisitoista ... It is six fifteen

Kello on kuusi ja kaksikymmentä ... It is six twenty

Kello on kuusi kolmekymmentä ... It is six thirty

Kello on kuusi neljäkymmentä ... It is six forty

Kello on seitsemän ... It is seven o'clock

Kello on seitsemän ja kymmenen ... It is seven ten

Jne. ... Etc.

Samalla saatoin harrastaa lintubongausta taas vaihteeksi ... At the same time I could occupy myself with bird watching for a change

Tämä varis oli kyllä vähän turhan kaukana ... This crow was a bit too far away

Näistä jo näkee, että sorsia ovat ... These you can already recognise as mallards

Tässäpä pieni pyöreä sinitiainen ... Here sits a little and rounded blue tit

This other one was a bit closer and so full of song

Vähän varuillaan oleva keltasirkku ... A slightly apprehensive yellowhammer

Kaksi käpytikkaakin näin. Tämä se vaan ajoi toisen tiehensä. Ottivat oikein yhteen vaan sitä en saanut ikuistettua ... I saw two greater spotted woodpeckers. This one chased the other one away. They clashed together but I did not get a chance to photograph that.

Here is a spring sign as the snow has dissapeared from the road

Not sure what the dogs make of it. They just love the snow.

Given a choice they will rather trample around in snow than walk on the dirt road

Koskee niin Ljubaa ... This goes for Ljuba

kuin Lucaakin ... as well as Luca

Not that I wish you any more insomnia, but you have certainly put it to good use!!! Absolutely stunning photos of the sunrise, and the birds!!! And the dogs, of course. They will soon have to accept the lack of snow. Jake is actually looking forward to that, as he will be able to run through the trees at top speed again. But then, he is a running dog!

Tarolino: What a wonderful sunrise to share and your bird photos are just marvelous. You certainly live in a beautiful country although it is certainly cold.

Whoa! insomnia was worth these photos. I'm jealous again, hahahaha...I love those fiery sunrises and what more could I say but all are excellent captures again.

I shouldn't say that I'm glad you had insomnia, but the sunrise pictures you got a re just fantastic! And the pictures were just as good when you switched to bird (and dog) watching. Thanks for a beautiful set of pictures.

You sure had a busy day - I mean morning! What amazing photos; again, it's hard to pick my favorite. I do love them all, but the one of the golden field, trees, and early morning sky is top on my list. Early morning light is the best time to go out and shoot, and you have great lighting there in Finland. I have to know what kind of camera and lens you use. Your pics are just stunning. Glad your sleeplessness had such good results! Thanks for visiting my SWF post. I've taken lots of shots of that weathervane. I need to get one with a good sunrise or sunset sky next time.

What a spectacular set of photos;- they should be published. I love the sky and the birds (and your puppy!) I never regret getting up early to see the sun rise.

Olipas mukava mennä tassutella kera kuviesi kohti uutta päivää, vaikka nukkumaanhan tästä kohta pitää loikkia. ;-)
