Havaintoja ... Observations

The spring is on its way even if it doesn't quite seem like it looking at the whole picture yet. One has to concentrate on more detailed observations. Still many of those are still more wintery by definition.

Photobucket
Kotka on laskeutunut ... The eagle has landed

Photobucket
Hassu luminyppylä (muurahaispesäkö?) ... A funny snow mound (an ant hill perhaps?)

Photobucket
Jonkun ajan päästä tässä kiviseinää vasten kasvaa uudet tuoreet piikkiohdakkeet ... After a while here in front of the stone wall will be growing new fresh Spear Thistles

Photobucket
... ja koiranputket ... and Cow Parsley

Photobucket
Puissa on jo kuitenkin havaittavat lehtinuput ... The trees are definately already budding

Photobucket
... kuten lähikuvasta näkyy ... as you can see from this close up

Photobucket
... tai tässä lepän oksassa ... or this Alder tree branch

Photobucket
Pajunkissat ovat jo kuorensa heittäneet ... The Pussy Willows have already dropped their covers

Photobucket
... ja alkaneet punertaa ... and started to shift in red

Photobucket
Kuolleet kaislat voivat olla näinkin kauniita ... Dead reeds can appear this pretty

Photobucket
Viime vuotinen linnunpesä saattaa tulla uusiokäyttöön ... Last years birds nest will perhaps be used again

Photobucket
Linnut ovat kuitenkin kovin aktiivisia ja laulavaisia... The birds at least are very active and full of song

Photobucket
Joillekin ei enää koskaan koita uusi kevät ... Some will never again see the new spring

Photobucket
...kuten tämä onneton supikoira, joka talven aikana tuli tiensä päähän ... like this unhappy Raccoon Dog that met his end during the winter

Anteeksi, jos viimeinen kuva shokeeraa. Elävän olisin mielummin näyttänyt. Vaan tässä on toiminut luonnon laki ja se on joskus kova.

I'm sorry if the last image is shocking to you. I would rather have shown a live one. Still this is the law of nature and sometimes it is harsh.

Beautiful photos!!! The last shot does show the law of nature. It doesn't shock me, but it does remind me to live each of my days to the fullest.

The last shot doesn't shock me, just makes me very sad.

The first reminds me of a dry lake bed. And the pussy willows look like artists brushes.

You given us another great sequence of photos. I really like your macros -- they are so detailed and clear. The last photo is sad but not shocking.

As also George said, the last photo is sad, but that's life.

I like mostly birds nest.

Regards.

I love all the macros, especially the ones with some snow on the dead flowers. I wonder if what you call spear thistle is what we call burdock? Arctium minus. I hate having to pull them out of Annie. Jake can run straight through and not catch one!!
