Kevätpäivän tasaus ... Spring equinox

It was today that important milestone. Quite wintery it still is though. However today I saw the first green tips of crocus leaves sticking out of the ground in a place were the snow had melted away. That really cheered me up even if the sea ice still lies on the water at the Porkkala peninsula as far as the eye can see.

Jäätä, jäätä silmänkantamattomiin ... Ice, ice as far as the vision reaches

Niin myös lähempänä rantoja ... So also closer to the shore

It's not quite that drull though. Here we have some progress.

When the seagulls return to the mainland and start to fly in the lower airspaces it is a good sign.

So the snow slowly melts away revealing more earth for the little birds to rummage in.

Flowing water can be admired at the rapids and at the same time my little friend too.

Näinhän se virtaa ... And this way it flows

Toisaalta vielä voi myös nautiskella makromaailmasta ... On the other hand one can still enjoy the macro world.

Tai miksei ihmisen tekeleistä kuten tästä koristeellisesta lintujen ruokintapöydästä ... Or why not man made things like this decorative bird feeding table

Tai vaikka tällaisesta söpöstä traktorista ... Or this cute little tractor

Such beautiful photos. Looks like Spring is very close. I love the tractor with the "cow print." The bird feeder is most unique.

Now THAT is a fun tractor! I don't think a Scottish farmer would do something like that.

Your progression from ice as far as the eye can see to little signs of spring is beautifully done. I'll enjoy seeing more signs of spring on your blog as the weeks go by.
