Today on April Fool's Day I have chosen to show you three different images of the spring thaw process. No I'm not pulling your leg (or am I).
The first image is in strange lighting conditions taken at sea
The second is from a lake where a corner had totally thawed out
The third is a river view
The fourth is just to illustrate what the thaw does on dry land
Finally we have the brook, that flows through the riding stable valley round the corner from home
I did do a bit of pulling. Sorry. Most of you would have noticed that the amount of images were more than just three :) That's not the main April Fool's Day joke in this post though. Take a good look at what you see in image # 4 and especially what you don't see or what you perhaps should see instead of what you do see. Something is not in the same form above the puddle as it is in the puddle. That's all I'm going to say.
Waterproof shoes quite necessary here when walking through the woods. To see and join in with the world's wet elements just go to the below meme hosted by 2sweetnsaxy

Vacker belysning pa den forsta vata bilden, och en glad hund med vata tassar pa den sista. Varvatt! Och sakert kallare an vad vi har, aven om jag tycker det ar iskallt har ocksa. Iskallt utan sno och is men med nordanvind.
Beautiful shots!
So pretty, especially the first picture! What an amazing reflection!
Melting is slowing happening here but snow did fall again yesterday!
A beautiful sequence - it will turn green soon.
These are all so natural and beautiful. It's such a stark contrast to all the greenery that surrounds us here in Northern Cal right now...
Hmm...did you play around with a tree that should be next to the bench - which unfortunately has graffiti on it? It seems like there is something in the reflection that is not in the shot. Happy April Fool's day to you, too...don't get too fooled!
I'm not sure, but you've shot some beautiful photos!
Looks like you're missing a tree that's in the reflection and a bench that's not in the reflection. But it's cool anyway.
Love the first shot!
Enjoy your springtime. Nice shots.
Quite so warm out here..
What did you do with the bench's reflection? Or did you add the bench to the photo. Whatever you did is very smooth! Good work.
Thanks for your comments.
The thing is I did nothing. Only when I put the photo on my computer I noticed there's something odd about it. Perhaps it wasn't a puddle at all but a magic mirror transforming the tired old bench to it's former glory. That is if it was made out of birchwood.
Hi There, Happy April Fools to you also. I agree that that one picture looks strange.. The reflection doesn't show what it should... Weird!!!!!
WELL---even if you showed us more that three photos, they are all wonderful. Your area looks so gorgeous over there. Maybe someday--George and I will get there.
Hugs,
Betsy
The color in the first picture is absolutely amazing, but all of your pictures are beautiful -- even your mysterious 'puddle' image.
Teillä näkyy olevan jo kevät-tulvia ja muutenkin sulia vesiä. Tuo sepelkyyhkypari on kyllä mainio sarja, miten ihmeessä pääsit seuraamaan toisten "sänkypuuhia" noinkin läheltä? Sinulla on varmasti tehokas objektiivi ja olet kamerasi kanssa sinut.
These are terrific- what wonderful shots in this series- Love the dog too-
I almost didn't notice the dog in the last photo. My eyes were drawn right past it to the beautiful snow-covered scene.
Thanks Betsy, George, Island style and Bryan.
i think the bench is too short to be reflected - i was going to say that the puddle looks as if it is getting raindrops while the sun is shining on the snow
now that i pay more attention to your photos, there are no cattails in any of them
was trying to figure out if luca had snow or what in his fur
No cattails in this part Judy but they do grow along the brooke further up.
Luca's cote is speckled so no there's no snow on it. It just looks like that.
It was dropping from the trees but that was melting snow.
Beautiful shots and blog. So different to here.
wow! what a wonderful series of watery pictures, all are awesome. I love all of them..
All the photos are good, but above others the first one.
