When you think that the spring most definately is due
but the picture outside your windows just makes you feel blue
Then there's surely but only one thing to do
Surround yourself with colour that'll chase away the gloom


Capsicums will do
Healthy they are too


Just a little treat
A mouthwatering sweet


Last years Mother's day lily has got flowers
That alone has pretty fine mental healing powers


Bright and beautiful spring flowers in people's kitchens
Chase away the blues from their unspringlike existens


The sight and tender scent of the layered rose
Fits in your vision and right under your nose

Mellow Yellow Monday N:o 11 - A bit unclear

Now here's a face that always makes me smile


"Oh yes. Pretty mellow", I hear you say


"Certainly not a sad character", I hear you say.

Then I hear you ask: "But where is the yellow bit?"

Well let me tell you.


She and her friends live in a yellow house. Pretty run down but it has got HEART and soul.
"Ah yes. A tiny yellow bit there but isn't it mostly red?" I hear you ask.


In truth it is mostly yellow but not what you call a pretty building, so you just have to be content with only one corner of it.

Missed last week unfortunately but that doesn't meen I've become a deserter :) So here is my entry of a sign, a car, something indoors and a house for this week.


An old sign to a favourite park of mine - a little worse for wear but still pretty I thought


A little sportier looking car this Ford Escort than the last two yellow cars I have posted - allthough quite dirty. A bit cold too I should imagine in the winter time.

Mellow Yellow Monday N:o 6

Here is the second edition of the yellow sign, car, indoors, house series for MYM

This is not a sign directing people to a royal gala. The only 'royalty' we have in Finland are the yearly chosen Tango King and Queen in the small town of Seinäjoki.
This sign indicates that the following stretch of road is part of the king's road, an ancient road that stretched from the west coast town and original capital of Finland called Turku to the commercial center of Vyborg in the east (now belonging to Russia since the peace negotiations after the second world war). The original road was built on order from the Swedish king during the time that Finland was a part of Sweden in the middle ages. Hence the name 'king's road'.


Just another little yellow car. Not quite so bright as the one in last week's post.


Photographs of frosted flowers on a yellow wall. Mum's kitchen again. The pictures were taken by dad (R.I.P.) during a rare cold spell in the middle of summer many years ago resulting in a frost rim around the flower petals and leaves in the early morning. Also the flower in the middle picture is yellow.


Just one of the many yellow houses that can be found around these parts. These days yellow is a favoured colour for painting houses with allthough traditionally houses used to be an earthy red colour with white corners like the buildings in the background.

Mellow Yellow Monday N:o 5

Last week I was overworked with my study assignments and they are not done with yet but the urgent ones are now sent in, thank god. Thus I had no time for any fun, like this MYM meme for example. Still I've got no lack of yellow subjects and I decided to go with a bit of a theme, which will continue the same way for a few times to come.
I shall post pictures of a yellow sign, a yellow vehicle, something yellow indoors and a yellow house.

So here my mellow friends is the first one of five to come:

This sign indicates a rescue route to a housing complex, not to be blocked by parked cars


A rather brightly coloured little car. I thought it was cute.


The walls in my mum's kitchen are yellow and this is an Ivy plant that she has by the window


Here we have a slightly strange combination of a creamy coloured house with yellow corners

Already in its third week and seemingly an instant success is this brightly coloured meme. What fun it is to try and think about yellow things to photograph and they are all around. Thankyou Drowsey for opening up my eyes to this fact.

This week my focus will be on yellow buildings or buildings with yellow details on them.

Mellow Yellow Monday N:o 2

Todays theme in this blog is all about yellow light. It's thrilling really to explore all the different yellow motives that can be used for this meme right under a grey and dull winter sky. At first I thought I would have to give in on my principal of not using anything that did not follow the actual time of year we are in. Now it very much seems like I won't have to. Come spring and summer there will be a myriad of things to choose from. Also in the fall.

So to the yellow light theme...
